About
Born Croatia, 1961
“Nenad fell in love with photography and mountaineering
simultaneously when he was introduced to both by his maths
teacher at the age of 12. He spent almost every weekend
taking photographs during hiking or caving trips until his late
twenties. He was almost expelled from school because of
spending too many hours in the darkroom. He applied to
study photography in Zagreb or Belgrade, however was
not accepted because of very small quotas (only six students
per year were admitted).
His career path changed dramatically when he opted for
economics and received his Ph.D. in Economics from the
University of Split in Croatia where he became professor
in The Faculty of Economics. He was founder and director
of several Croatian and international companies dealing with
aquaculture, computer software and hardware production
and business consulting. He spent a few years in the United
States, working as an international project manager and has
now settled back in Croatia as a tax advisor specialising in
international tax planning & investments.
As an active caver and speleophotographer for 15 years,
a Certified Caving Instructor and Mountain Rescuer this
allowed him unique photo opportunities.“
