Images
Standing behind the camera and waiting for an exposure, I clear my mind of everything but the place where I am at that very moment. There is no past or future, just plain and raw existence. Time is compressed in my breath; I am the wind and the calm, the light and the night, the cold and heat, the rain and snow, the moonlight and the sun, I am all in one, I simply feel good.
I shoot whenever the combination of light, wind and clouds is magical – I just feel the „when“. Whether it be night, twilight or day. I like long exposures; condensing time - recording the whisper of the wind, propelling cloudships, the slap or roar of water and the rustle of autumn trees – the symphony of nature itself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about my images. Both before, during, as well as after taking them through the editing process. It usually takes a few days, sometimes even longer, to refine my final vision. When I am making images the process consumes me completely; I think about them while walking, eating, during sleep. This is a very ecstatic state during which my batteries drain out little by little. When an image is finished, I wait for the next inspiration to hit. I am a perfectionist and I am very selective.
